2012 North American International Auto Show

This is such a late post. I was invited to take pictures at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan this year. I was lucky enough to go on a media day which means no big crowds. I had a great time and spent nearly four hours just roaming around taking photographs. I may have gone just a little photoshop crazy on this post but I learned a ton in the process. Plus, I had a great time just attempting whatever came to mind. Shoots like this are why I love being a photographer. I had no agenda, no structure, no time limit, and no one that needed a specific thing or style of shot. I wandered towards the light and composition. Meandered through composition and layers. Some of the pictures are upside down. That is intentional. I wanted to shoot the words and logos so you could read them and on some of the cars flipping them upside down was the only way to achieve that. I really love the way they look. The cars almost become chandeliers or ornaments.

I have a week in Chicago coming up and I hope to apply this same mind set to that shoot.
